Hi there,

Am new to this site. Was looking up info and came across it. I am confused..I had my period on the 17th of Feb,had protected sex with condom on the 23rd, felt cramps on the 28th and have felt hot ever since. On Sunday I felt car sick and have never had this before.Have felt nausea past few days and have been going to bed really early. Could it be a bug or could it be pregnancy? Sorry if this is wrong thread!!

Theoretically if you have sex then you could be pregnant.

However, it's unlikely if you've only had protected sex. You'd be very, early on if you were pregnant, the only real way to tell would be to wait and see if your next period is late.

I strongly suspect it's just a bug.

It's very unusual to ovulate as early as the day you had sex (cd6). But sperm can live for several days inside you. You can only get pregnant if you ovulate while there is living sperm inside you. You ovulate once a month and the egg lives for about 24 hrs. This gives you a fertile window of about 5 days every month.
Perhaps the pains you felt on the 28th were ovulation pains. I get them every month but only became aware of them when I started trying to conceive. Another clue to when you ovulate is a change in your cervical mucous. It becomes almost like egg white and is slippery and stretchy. You are at your most fertile if your cervical mucous is like that.
I think it's very unlikely that you could be pregnant, especially since you had safe sex. But any sex can result in pregnancy if it's within your fertile window. Hopefully you are ok.
There are definitely lots of horrible bugs at this time of year. When you are afraid of being pregnant you notice things that you normally wouldn't and your imagination runs wild. Worrying can also delay your period so try not to worry. Your most likely not pregnant. You'll be ok.
