Hi, I am only 6 weeks +1 so i am probably completely jumping the gun here, but i was definitely feeling sick by now in my last pregnancy. It was horrific and it lasted til the day i gave birth (!!!!) but now I am really paranoid because i haven't started to feel pukey yet! I think there might be something wrong. Confused Even tho i definitely have symptoms (sore boobs, early bloating and cramping, dehydrated, funny taste/smells)...not to mention positive tests and no period! But I am not as tired as i was last time either. I'll probably wake up tomorrow and feel sick as a dog Grin and then regret i've posted anything but for now I am looking for other people's experience with different pregnancies....i know they can all be different but what is typical?! IS there a typical????

Hey don't worry I had hyperemesis in my first pregnancy from 5 weeks! This time around I had some sickness which didn't start until about 8 weeks but didn't really get to anything like it did with my dd. I was so worried as with my dd I was in and out of hospital and was sick right through the whole thing but this has been a totally different pregnancy. This time im 28 weeks and I am having a boy and I'm convienced that's y I wasn't so sick!! Urs may kick in soon or u maybe lucky this time :-) either way I think every pregnancys different so enjoy it while u can :-) x

Yes, well the other way around anyway, I was fine with 1st pregnancy and this one is hell Grin.
Boy first time, this ones a girl, think its the different hormones or something?

JessHelicopter · 06/03/2013 16:13

Knew it! Spoke too soon! Feeling sick and VERY VERY tired today! Anticipating that it will get worse before it gets better! Smile Just FYI re the boy / girl thing.... during my first pregnancy, where i was SO sick everyone told me i'd be having a girl. It was a boy!!!! Grin So am no longer convinced by that theory!

First time I had more or less 9 months of awful sickness. I was hospitalised a couple of times. It was unrelenting misery.

When I got to 7 weeks with no sickness second time round I thought I was in the clear. Unfortunately by 7 weeks and 3 days I was vomiting round the clock.

I thought I was facing in to months of it again but like magic the sickness stopped at 13 weeks and I was fine until it returned in the final couple of weeks.

Both girls in my case.

I felt like you 6 weeks into my current pregnancy. I couldn't believe the sickness hasn't hit yet given my previous history. If you are like me you only have a few days to wait (sorry!).

JessHelicopter · 08/03/2013 09:37

Ugh feel gross. Can't believe i ever thought i'd get away with it!!! :( It's SO cruel that we have to go thru this???? Who's idea was it?!!!! haha!

Hi, I have just see this thread.

I am 5 weeks tomorrow with my second pregnancy. I was so sick the first time round it was unreal. The day ds was born I weighed 4 stone less than the day I found out I was pregnant (I was overweight though).

I think I started being sick at around 7 weeks with ds (he's 11 this year so it was so long ago I can't remember for sure) and it soon descended into round the clock nausea and vomiting. I was still being sick as I was being wheeled into theatre to have him.

No one did anything though, drs and midwives fobbed me off, it was always,
'it will stop at 12/15/20/25 weeks' and I was even accused of being bulimic by one.

I was dehydrated, being sick between 10 and 20 times per day, vomiting all the water I took in and retching bile when there was nothing left.

I am so scared it will happen again this time, BUT I am worried because at the moment I feel fine!

Fingers crossed you don't have it so bad this time. I do. I can't keep anything down. and i am so depressed, i can't stop crying knowing that it will be like this for the next 8 months. I don't know how i am going to get thru it.
