35 weeks and gender panic

Ok so at 35 weeks i am panicking about a lot of things but on my mind constantly is the sex of our baby. At 20 wk scan they said girl and then when i had a scan at 30 weeks they couldnt tell due to breech position. I have got loads of pink stuff and wake up at night convinced i am carrying a boy! Should i pay for another scan (although think its still breech so might be non starter or do i stop worrying. How accurate are these scans? Does anyone know of people told incorrect and had a big surprise?! Already have DS but gave away all his clothes so that isnt helping the panic!!!

They are normally quite accurate so I wouldnt worry too much, however I do have a friend who like you was told girl and she said she could never shake the boy dreams and feelings, she carried on buying all girl things and was going to have a scan to double check but her partner said it would be a girl cause scan said so. But she have birth and she was infact an he. But they say there 95% accurate at 20wks (up at my hospital anyway) x

what's the point of another scan now? It won't change anything?

What value would there be in finding out now that it's a boy? I think now you've got this far, you should wait just a few more weeks and know for definite!

That way you'll be overwhelmed with the excitement of your new little bundle and won't have any energy left over to worry about the baby grow colours. maybe it's worth getting a neutral outfit just in case, but now you've already bought the pink, you can't do a lot about it!

Sometimes I wonder too: If a boy turns out after ALL the pink stuff I have bought ... I don't know what I will do ...

ButteryJam · 04/03/2013 18:31

... Obviously will get over it pretty quickly! :)

So don't panic. If it does happen, you'll just be so glad that you have a healthy baby, plus you can shop online, and return the stuff in pink :)

My friend was told girl and it was a boy! Shock

Creamtea1 · 04/03/2013 22:21

And me! Was told a girl at 20 weeks, had a scan later on for low lying placenta and then was told boy...ds2 arrived a few weeks later :)

Thought i'd let you know that I succumbed and had another scan today and had it confirmed that I am carrying a girl! Smile

Totally normal (for me anyway) I found out at 20w for all 3 of mine, did the nursery gender specific, bought boy/girl clothes, but in the last 6 weeks had a wobble and kept thinking what if it's a boy/girl. For this reason I packed plain white/cream clothes for the hospital and thought up an emergency back up scheme for the nursery. this was despite ds scan photo having such a clear willy shot that It almost had neon flashing arrows, and with dd2 I had 3 different scans clearly showing girl bits. the sonographer was right with all 3 babies.

Thanks everyone. Why is it you just seem to go mental in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy! I am questioning myself on everything!!! Confused
