I am so tired!

Went to bed at 10:30pm last night, only up once for the toilet (TMI i know)and woke up before my alarm at 6am, and am nearly falling asleep at my desk and I dont finish till 7pm.

Im 18 weeks today, I had thought the tiredness had got a bit better, this is not the case today, I am having to control myself from just lying on the carpet for a good nap. Have already tried going for a walk outside to see if fresh air would help, it just made me worse.

Also I had a nose bleed this morning when i got to work wtf and have a splitting sore head. Sad

At the risk of stating the obvious... that's only 7.5 hours & with one interruption! My baseline sleep requirement for being non grumpy is 8-9 hours & I've been going to bed ridiculously early throughout the 2nd trimester (more sleepy than 1st, actually) - currently trying to get 9-10 hours on average every night.

Is bed earlier possible? [Smile]
Other thing to consider could be if you're anaemic - what were your booking bloods like, vegetarian/diet, any other symptoms (fainty etc.), when are the next bloods...

That sounds like a long working day when you are already tired.
I am nearly 18 weeks and am exhausted, with bad headaches just as you describe. The last 2 nights I've been asleep at 9.30 (albeit on the sofa at first) and waking at 7ish.
I think more sleep may be the only answer.
If it makes you feel any better, my friend who I consider to be almost superhuman spent 45 minutes of every lunch break asleep in her car in the car park near work to allow herself to get through a normal day.
hope you feel better soon and if you can have a sneaky nap - do it!

I usually try to go to bed earlier, but had a few things to do, but im generally ok on 7/8 hours sleep.

11 hr work day, with a 40 minute commute each way is a killer, I am trying to limit them and only do 9-6 or 9-7 but have to do 11 hrs a day this week.

Never thought about being anaemic, will ask at appointment on the 18th as do feel dizzy sometimes. Not a vegetarian had steak for lunch :)

If i had my car with me today, I would so be napping in it!

You are not alone! I have felt like a walking zombie ever since my BFP! I?m now 13 weeks and still exhausted!!!! I was tested for anaemia and nope apparently my iron levels are ?very good? so have succumbed to my fate of low energy levels and constant sleepiness for the foreseeable future. Although I really hope my energy levels will improve during the second trimester.

Have you let your work know your PG? I personally haven?t but when I?ve hit rock bottom in the past I?ve either headed to the loos for a quick 5 minute kip or made up an excuse and left work a little earlier. I often blame the boiler ? not sure how long I can use the same excuse though! You could mention your nose bleed and headache ? it might be a warning sign that you need to take a some time out. If however, they do know your PG then I?m sure they?d understand.

Good luck - I know how it feels!!! x

I have told my Area manager, but i work in lots of different places some places i tell some i don't, as like today im working by myself, but nowhere to nap.

I had to tell them slightly earlier than i wanted too as they were demanding i worked 12 hrs a day with an hour long commute each way, 5/6 days a week. So I have managed to get it down slightly, but they are not really sympathetic, I was put on bed rest last week as i had slight spotting and really bad cramps, and they were kind of "ok" about it, but it was more the case "so you will be back for monday" in the end i took a few days holiday as i need to do other things.

I work in a male dominated environment so they seem to not be aware of certain things, I am taking my maternity leave as soon as i can hopefully with holidays before it, im just trying to work out when that would be.
