Is sideways called transverse?
I could swear the baby has gone sideways, am feeling what feels distinctly like a head on the right side and there are movements that look like fists popping out where they wouldn't be if the head was still down. Also I keep feeling stretched from side to side as if the baby is doing a very prolonged star-jump OR as if he he in fact lying sideways.
Is this even possible? I thought when they went head down they stayed that way??!
If he HAS gone sideways should I be worried? as iin is the baby ok in there?? I am scheduled for a planned c section for other medical reason so birth itself isn't scaring me too much but I am freaked out as the movements feel so different. Still v strong which I assume is good but different areas etc.

Mine was head down until 35w when she decided to go up. And down again one week later. So it is possible, but what you describe does not necessarily mean it's the case with you. As baby grows your bump might feel different to you. Anyway, as you have cs scheduled, even if your baby is breach, it will have no impact on the birth.

Yes it can happen.

I would speak to your MW. The risk is that there could be problems if your waters break before your c-section.

If they know that a baby is transverse at this late stage, they may want you to stay in hospital until the birth.

Mine was transverse a lot and back to back. He was well behaved at scans and turned head down but we all saw him turn again before I even sat up. He actually turned right way down and around as he came out.
