DC2 Gender prediction by fundal height measurement?

We are in week 32 with DC2 and we chose not to find out the gender on u/s. I asked my midwife if any of the old wives tales are true. She said the best way to guess is to compare tummy measurements in the two pregnancies. If they are very similar then it's the same gender. If it's quite different then it MIGHT be the other gender. She is quite tongue in cheek when she says it so I know I shouldn't read too much into it.
But I'd never heard that particular method of guessing before. My head tells me that if it was true more than 50% of the time then everyone would know about it.
Has anyone else noticed fundus measurements being different for boys/girls? I'm definitely carrying differently this time but I figured that was down to my pelvic floor not being what it once was. This baby has it's head right down by my butt. But I'm measuring the same.

Babies move about a lot, if it's sitting at the front then you are going to show more aren't you?

I don't think it has anything to do with what size you are, especially as womens weight normally vary between pregnancies.
