Gaviscon! you can get on prescription in pregnancy in the UK. It is the only thing that touches it for me :-)

ilovepowerhoop · 27/02/2013 18:42

I didn't like gaviscon so use rennies instead

waitingtopop · 27/02/2013 18:46

I cant use gaviscon it makes me sick, i use peppermint rennies though perfectly safe and you can take up to 12 a day and 2 at a time for bad heart burn, Ive had it sooo badly all through pregnancy and have really bad acid reflux and there the only things that work! x

I drank milk, lots of milk! Gaviscon only relieved for half an hour Sad So i was constantly sipping milk, yoghurt drinks etc!

If over the counter remedies aren't helping you go to the doctor and ask for ranitidine. I was vomiting blood until I got this, it's been a life saver.

ThedementedPenguin · 27/02/2013 18:49

When I was pregnant I tried gaviscon, rennies but they didn't work for me.

So I bought tescos own chewable tablet they are flavoured and they were fantastic. So I recommend them

waitingtopop · 27/02/2013 19:04

Yes CherryCherry41 !! I'm the same whole milk and rennies are my best friends at the moment..
Its good for acid reflux too it gets rid of the horrible feeling that theres something stuck in your throat.. acid reflux has been the bain of my life for the last few months!

Flisspaps · 27/02/2013 19:19

TheDemented they're the same as the ASDA ones I recommend to everyone - basically any calcium carbonate (chalky) sweet should do the trick though (love hearts, Parma violets, refreshers)
