How soon can I POAS?

Hi all, think I might finally be pg, but I'm not due my period for another week. I have purchased First Response, but it's really not 100% clear of how soon I can use it.

For the last two weeks I've been nauseous, have swollen sore boobs, headaches, feeling bloated and have a continual metallic taste in my mouth. All which I believe should be good signs, but this morning nothing... except for slightly larger boobs, I want to know if I am or I am not

My periods are fairly messed up and I often skip a month or go from a 28 day to a 36 day cycle without any obvious reason behind it.

Although I already have DD this is all a bit new to me, as I was 14 weeks before I discovered I was pregnant with her.

Tricky one if you've been having symptoms for a fortnight and have irregular cycles. When was your last period? Any idea when you ovulated?

MTBMummy · 27/02/2013 13:03

My last period was on the 15th Jan, and we've been dtd every 2-3 days, but really couldn't tell you when I ovulated, using rough maths (based on averaging my cycles over a year it would have been around the 6th Feb, but really couldn't say for certain

I thought it was 3 days prior to expected menstrual date but am not 100%. I took a Clearblue test a day before my period was due which pinged up very quickly!

But there's a link here that may help? Not sure if this is the brand you used:

BTW - thanks Having for replying

Is it a first response early response? They say they are about 60% accurate from 6 days but I'd try to hold off until you think your period is due. That's what I'd suggest (I actually got my BFP two days before AF was due!).

Rockchick1984 · 27/02/2013 13:17

My last period was 11th Jan, 28 day cycle and I got my BFP about 2-3 weeks ago - I definitely think its worth you testing Grin good luck!

MTBMummy · 27/02/2013 14:28

Thanks - Will test tomorrow morning, please keep your fingers crossed for me, really really want this. :-)

Thanks Having - yeah it's the early response one - one of the reason I was holding off as they're £6 each - that makes me sound so tight

That's why I kept a statsh of the cheap ones I bought off the Internet and only ran out and bought FRER when I got fuzzy lines on the cheap ones! Ooh how exciting, testing tomorrow. I'll be here for the results! Hoping its a BFP! :)

MTBMummy · 27/02/2013 15:07

Thanks - I did have a stash of the cheap ones, but they ran out and I picked up these.

Will be on tomorrow to let you know :-)

If your last period was 15th Jan, and your cycle is irregular 28-36 days, then you could already be 2 weeks late.

I hope you get the result you want.

RoseGarden123 · 27/02/2013 15:19

I used FRER from about 9 days post ovulation and showed up with all my pregnancies (5 times, 3 mcs) , albeit very faintly, but definately there.
I hope you get the result you are after - best of luck. xx

MTBMummy · 27/02/2013 15:44

Scaevola - I did test just before I thought my last period was due, but got nothing, but it's really not unusual for me to miss one or two months.

If I get a positive, I may go and get the ClearBlue one that tells you how far along you are - because I have no idea.

Thanks to everyone for the positive wishes

Hi all - tested this morning and nothing, maybe my hormones are all over the place.

Not that DP will complain to hear we're still trying :-)

:( sorry to hear that. With such an irregular cycle, I'd be considering retesting beginning of next week in your position.

MTBMummy · 28/02/2013 11:48

Thanks - I will try that, and I might get the tests to check when I'm actually ovulating, because it's so hard to tell with my cycle

Although had to chuckle at DP's response, "sad - but yay I get to be used as a sex object more" (this was done by text as I leave for work an hour before he wakes up)
