Baby sleeping bags & togs

Hello,
I'm having a baby at the end of April and am busy getting everything ready for the new arrival. However, I'm getting confused by all the different Togs for the baby sleeping bags.
What Tog do I need and does it depend on the time of year? I'm having a spring baby, so should I buy accordingly?
Also, how many do I need?

Good question! I'm marking my place ..

It is temperature based and is on the packaging.

But basically, 2.5 is UK winter, 1 is spring/summer, 0.5 is baking hot (though many people wouldn't both with a really lightweight cover as it is used so rarely and you can just dress the baby accordingly).

You need two in each size- one in use and one in the wash when the baby vomits/poos on it!

The gro bag company has a guide here. It's based on temperatures so it depends on what temp your house usually is at that time of year. Still pretty cold where I am in April so I'll prob still be using 2.5 tog.

Also I would get 3 but I have a sicky baby who often needed a total change in the night!

I'd wait until your lo arrives tbh, they'll be ok with blankets until they're a few weeks old and then I'd probably get a couple of 2.5 tog ones. I had a 1 tog one for my baby last year during the hot spell in April (she was about 12 weeks old) and she hardly used it as if was just too warm to be in a sleeping bag! Also, three friends got me my sleeping bags as presents when the baby was born so I'm glad I didn't buy any beforehand!
