How did you feel during it and after the cosmofer iv iron ?
During it I felt very flushed and hot, nausea, bad heartburn, and aching all over.
I'm still having the aching all over.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm hoping to have one soon as I can't tolerate oral iron. May I ask what led your GP/midwife to refer you? How low was your iron? And are you still feeling the post-side effects? Thanks! Smile

Hiya,
I had one in my 1st pregnancy, and my consultant suggested again now in my 2nd pregnancy. A couple months ago my ferritin was 9 and hb 10.
I can't tolerate oral iron either.

I had venofer infusions after DD1 was born. I didn't feel well during the infusions although I don't remember the specific symptoms too well (I think I was dizzy and tired so just worse anaemia symptoms). I seem to remember that they had to run the drip really slowly for the first 15 minutes because of the chance of a serious adverse reaction but I don't know what that would present like IYSWIM.

Yeh they do a 15 minute test then turn it off for 45 mins. Then restart it a bit faster while checking blood pressure every 15 mins for the first couple hours. Then increase it a bit faster and check blood pressure every 30 mins. Then increase the speed again.
