Hello

Discovered I was bleeding last night at around 5pm ( much like a heavy period with lots of big clots- sorry TMI) phoned labour ward and was admitted to day assessment unit after various monitoring/tests. Going to be here at least another 12 hours.

Bleeding seems to have stopped over night, but still experiencing period pains and suddenly started to feel very nauseous.

No explanation offered for bleeding, but MW last night said my bump was measuring small and I may need a scan?

I'm still very relaxed, no one seems concerned. has anyone experienced something similar? Could it be my body preparing for labour in the next few weeks?

Thank you!

Didn't want to read and run. No advice really but you're in the best place. If it is labour starting then be assured that 35 weeks is a very good time and chances are your baby will only need minimalist special care for a few days.

Don't forget to ask the midwives / doctors anything you're concerned about. It's what they're there for!

Good luck, keep us posted Smile

Didn't want to read & run either, but wanted to say I'm sure all will be well. Hospital is the best place to be, ask any questions & remain calm.
35 weeks is quite a safe time for birth if necessary.
Please keep us posted how you & your LO are doing.
Positive thoughts to you Thanks

Could be placenta praevia? You are in the safest place. Hang in there. All the best wishes for you and baby!

Scan could check you don't have placenta previa but should have been picked up before has anyone mentioned a low lying placenta?
I have placenta previa getting lots of bleeds. Didn't have it with first baby and had bleeds from 36 weeks they induced me at 39 weeks to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the messages everyone!

Bleeding stopped last night Grin Dr wanted to keep me in another night, so I'm here again until tomorrow!

Scan booked for morning, mainly because they are worried that DC is measuring small....

My 20 week scan didn't pick up a low lying placenta...Dr said it could be "one of those things"?

Hopefully I can go home tomorrow!
