Moses basket advice??

Hey,

I'm 36 weeks, My friend gave me her old Moses basket 3 months ago, there was never any mention of returning it, we've since bought a new mattress.
She just rang to say when we're done can we return it to her for her cousin to use, what would you do??
Would you:

A: Use it as we were planning (afraid baby may be sick etc on it) and possibly couldn't return it in original condition

B: Buy ourselves another and return original

Use it and pass it on, your friends cousin will buy a new mattress anyway and I doubt there's much damage your baby can do that can't be sorted out in the washing machine?

I agree with the above. I had Sil's Moses basket after her 2 had been in it, then my dd, then Sil's friend, then back to me for ds. Now it's with my cousin!

Covers all washed and new mattress each time,.It's been fine.

Use it, chance of baby actually bring sick on the basket

they dont use them for more than a few weeks anyway before they grow out of them. We used a crib rather than a moses basket as they last longer

Baby sick will wash out, they will probably get a new mattress and in reality you probably won't be using it for as long as you think, my DS was in his for about 3-4 weeks chunky monkey out grew it

Use it, wash the covers, return it. Also good luck for your birth.

I think the guidance is a new mattress each baby anyways - so you will get the use and then pass back the basket as it was given to you.
My friend is also loaning me hers - I'll keep whatever it comes with and return it with it at the end.

I wouldn't worry about what DC manages to do to it - some things can't be helped and if it's going on to third usage it's bound to have some wear and tear.

I'd use it & pass it on once you're done. My DS was in his MB for 3 months and it was completely unscathed.

Baby will puke on the mattress and sheet rather than the rest of the covers. Use it and give it back with the original mattress when you are done, they aren't in them 2 minutes. Our family Moses basket has done every baby in our family in this generation as well as a couple of good friends in the interim, that's 8 babies in total, 2 of which were
Chronic pukers, and one who had tendency to explosive poos. The basket still looks like new tbh. The covers are still perfect.

Ours has done 7 children and is still going strong making it way round the generation after us I believe. The covers have been puked on but washed up fine.
