Hey,

Went to my first aquanatal class last week and I've found a verruca (I won't be going back!!). Does anyone know if there's anything I can use during pregnancy to get rid of it?!?

Thanks

Xxx

tea tree oil - I had exactly same during my first pregnancy and worried about the ointment that a chiropodist had prescribed.....however I did show my midwife the prescribed ointment and she said it would be fine to use as its only topical so won't 'reach' baby. But she also suggested tea tree oil, which worked a treat.

The best method is taping- sounds weird but basically you cover it with a square of gaffer tape (you know, the silver fabric backed diy tape). Leave tape in place till it falls off, then put a new bit on! if you go to www.patient.co.uk and look up warts and verrucas in the conditions leaflets it tells you how to do it. Sorry, on phone so can't link! The verruca won't do you or baby any harm. In fact you don't have to treat it at all, it will eventually go on its own but it can take a while.

An old wives tale that is meant to work is putting a piece of banana skin on it. And even if you do nothing it will go away eventually on its own.

Vitamin e oil (from capsules). Worked for me before.

Nothing gets rid of veruccas except your own immune system. By all means try duct tape, banana skins, tea tree oil, rubbing it with an old newspaper or hopping round the bathroom twice a day but none of those things actually oes anything. Anyone who tells you that they worked for them was simply trying that remedy when their immune system got rid of it. I ignored one for years then suddenly it disappeared, almost overnight.

Just leave it, you don't need to treat it.

Good luck with that!

I have had one on my foot for over 12 years now! It hurts everyday, wakes me up in the night with the pain Sad

I have seen multiple doctors, podiatrists and homeopaths, tried burning, freezing, suffocating, and everything in between!

It is the bane of my life! Angry
