So dd1 came unexpectedly at 37wks exactly, now pregnant with dd2 and wondered if its likely this one would be aswell?!
I know anything can happen and it's not an exact science but just interested to know others experiences, no one I know in RL to ask as friends on firsts or had cs or induction, my mum did have the three of us at 37wks though!
Partly just out of interest but also want to book ml and not sure whether to go abit earlier as I'd like quality time with dd1 for atleast a week or so before the new arrival

I am not sure but with DS1 he was born at 40wks exactly and when I was expecting DS2 the midwives kept saying that they would be surprised if I got to 40wks, DS2 was born at 38+5wks.
I am now 19wks today with DC3 and I am wondering will I have him earlier than that.

Ds1 came at 37+2. So we were all psyched up for dc2 coming early......
It didn't happen and I was induced at 41 weeks as dp was leaving 4 days later to go back offshore for a month.

First child born at 37+6 days, second at 35+6 days do both early. Both labours were very similar too. I hadn't started my mat leave with DC2 when I had him, was meant to work one more week and was really looking forward to relaxing and enjoying time with DC1 just the two of us before he appeared!

kittykatsforever · 22/02/2013 12:21

That's what I'm worried about chocoholics I really want abit of time first but likewise don't want to waste it. By being off say 4/5 wks before baby makes an appearance

Dc1 - 35 weeks
Dc2 - 39+5
Dc3 - 40+1
Dc4 - 40+3

My pregnancies are getting longer

weegiemum · 22/02/2013 12:26

I had dd1 at 39+3, then ds at 38+4, both spontaneous labours, dd1 was 9lb12 and ds 9lb3 and midwives agreed the were "ready". Dd2 was induced at 36+6 as I had scary health problems, she was 7lb13 even slightly more than 3 weeks early!

No idea if this helps you. I've never gone past a due date, and mine got earlier. I really think dd2 would have been early too.

DewDr0p · 22/02/2013 12:30

Dc1 38 wks
Dc2 39 wks
Dc3 37 wks (36 by my dates)

I'm eldest of 4 and we were all early too - between 35 and 38 wks.

Have you got any annual leave spare? Just wondering if you could book a few days off around say 36 wks but not officially start mat leave until later?

ChasingSquirrels · 22/02/2013 12:33

ds1: 37+0 (around 1am)
ds2: 37-0 (minutes before midnight)

very similar pregnancies, very similar labours - albeit ds2 was rather faster.

candr · 22/02/2013 20:11

My friend had DD 6 weeks early at 6.3lb and DS 5 weeks early at 6lb
I had DS at 37+4 at 5.3lb with 4 hour labor, got told to expect DC2 early with 2 hour labor so will wait and see.

thethreeblondies · 22/02/2013 22:18

DD1 37 wks
DD2 on due date!

Similar labours, 2nd faster, same delivery room, 1 bang on midnight, 1 quarter to midnight!

Midori1999 · 23/02/2013 00:30

DC1 40 weeks
DC2 38 weeks (and 10lb Grin )
DC3 37+3
DC4&5 23+5
DC6 37+6
DC7 will have to see!

SpeckleDust · 23/02/2013 00:38

DD1 32+6, DD2 33+6 According to dating scans.
