feeling stupid but irritable uterus question

hi all i'm feeling really stupid asking this but im currently 36+6 weeks pg with baby number 5 and with this pregnancy ive suffered with an irritable uterus so had a few scary but thankfully false alarms, with my previous pregnancies they have all been straight forward labours with contractions from the get go but ive never noticed my plug going and had to have my waters broke for me all except with pg 4 i didnt even realise i was in labour i hemorrhaged and was informed i was having contractions so im not quite trusting my instincts at the moment.

i saw the midwife on tues and she said dd2 was fully engaged all today ive had a lot of clear discharge to the point of even with wearing a pad i still felt very wet (sorry for tmi) and all day ive been having period type cramps and lower back pain as well as some painful tightenings and bump is getting hard and i am having some pressure pains and pulling sensations and i havent experienced these before.

what im wondering is is it possible this is the start of early labour or is it more likely to be caused by the irritable uterus?

I think we're due on the same day Grin.

It's hard to say really. I've had a touch of this, but now have PGP so I'm pretty immobile and it seems to have reduced. The back pains sound promising though [sceptical] Sorry to be completely and utterly unhelpful but I guess time will tell. Good luck and keep posting updates!

[sceptical] was supposed to produce an emoticon. Instead it makes me look like an eejit. Sorry! Time for bed I think. Fingers crossed for you.

I had an irritable uterus with DC3, and I was so used to the false alarms and constant pains and cramping that it wasn't until my waters went with a woosh (contractions were 3 mins apart at that point) that I actually admitted I was in labour! One thing they kept telling me was to drink loads and that a thirsty uterus is an irritated uterus!

With regard to your discharge, it's maybe hindwaters? Call your MW tomorrow and see if she can fit you in?

Good Luck anyway! Smile
