Got my period then tested positive 3 days later

I thought it was all over for this when my period started on Sunday night. It was very light spotting and then watery blood and this has lasted until this morning (Thursday). I think this is just a light period but I have been really emotional today and randomly burst into tears sitting in the car so I thought i'd do a FRER test just incase and it came out as a faint positive and a Boots own test which came out negative. I just went out an bought another one Clear Blue and that is negative too. I know it's wishful thinking and almost wish I hadn't tested now.

My sister in law had periods up to 5 months so I was kind of clinging to that!

Has anyone else had this? It wasn't an evaporation line as it was definitely pink. But the other two test I did we very negative... confusing!

You may have had implantation bleeding if it came as very light.

I am very new to this but i would say a faint positive is always hopeful! as it means you have a very much raised HCG hormone in your urine. Give it 2 days and then do another with first morning pee and go from there!

DOH! I'm such a prat!!!! I just realised it was a Boots ovulation test that was 'positive' not a pregnancy test. What a waste of a FRER and a Clear blue!!! Ah well at least I figured it out and know where I stand now : )

I had this - felt pregnant, did a Superdrug early test (pink dye) on the Friday - negative. Started my 'period' on Saturday as expected, normal bleeding for two days and then still felt pregnant on the Monday so did another Superdrug test and a CB digi which were both positive. I went to the Dr as I'd had the bleeding and they referred me for an early scan at 6 weeks and everything was fine. I just had the baby last week Do another test and good luck!

Depending on how 'positive' the ovulation test was, could you have been ovulating during the bleed? Or could you be about to ovulate?

I never get ovulation bleeding, maybe a tiny bit of blood streaked cervical mucous occasionally, but in January I thought I was getting a period at 16 days into my cycle and bled for 3-4 days, more than spotting but not heavy. I had a few almost positive ovulation tests, but I think I ovulated on cycle day 18. I got my BFP, so I must have ovulated at some point.

I had 3 positive opk in a row (over 3 days) in early Oct. Dr Google suggested I might be pregnant.

I'd had a light "period" in Sept, so had assumed that I wasn't pregnant.

POAS next day and got a line.

Try with first morning urine.

Don't mean to give you false hope but I had a positive ovulation test that turned out to be pregnancy, as HCG and lutenising Hormone are almost molecularly the same , I'd wait a few days and check again as light bleeding in early pregnancy can happen
