VBACs and water births - advice needed

Hi,

I'm looking into options for the birth of my second (my first was an emergency c-section following foetal distress).

I'd be keen to have a water birth if poss, although don't want to reject constant monitoring as consultants think that's the safest option for me.

I've heard people talk about telemetry monitoring as something that can be used in water. Does anyone have any experience of this?

And does anyone know if all hospitals have telemetry monitoring or only some?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts / advice

i am also looking into a VBAC and not sure if all hospitals would have telemetry monitoring but our hospital only has 1 (or 2 - the MW wasnt sure) of these monitors and 2 birth pools. thats between 11 rooms. my VBAC meeting was very negative - it seems the only VBAC they advocate is about as far removed from a natural VB as possible. maybe thats why their success rate is low. anywya hopefully your hospital is much better and someone can fill us in on the monitoring soon!
