What's normal? Am I a wimp?

Hi all,

Just after some comparison really. I'm 16 weeks, first pregnancy. Finding it quite difficult so far. My back is killing me, round ligament pain is pretty bad and often get palpitations and feel faint. All my friends seem to consider their pregnancies "easy", which makes me feel like I just need to woman up and stop moaning. I work in retail so am standing for 8 hours a day, every day, which obviously doesn't help. I'm worried that if I'm this wimpy now, what will I be like at 30 weeks, or the labour for that matter?! How many of you are finding your second trimester pregnancies hard? Should I just shut up and get on with it, in the knowledge that it will only get worse? Or is it normal to want a good moan every now and then?

Thank you!

Perfectly normal.

You'll feel better soon (2nd tri) by the time you realise you'll start feeling crap again!
You may find you need to finish work a bit earlier than others. most people I know in retail have finished a few weeks before rather than on their EDD. Or you might start blooming and end up skipping to work everyday. Everyone is different

Hi

You're perfectly normal. I'll have a couple of days where I feel great, then get random aches and pains (back ache, migraine, constipation, thrush, vomiting) and then could moan for England. It's my 1st pregnancy so I'm still getting my head round it all (24 weeks at the mo) but finding all these daily changes bizarre.

I've just had 2 days of being a complete moany cow and totally panicking abut whether i'll be a rubbish mum, what if I'm just not cut out for it and how the hell am I going to give birth. Woke up this morning and feel loads better & feel a bit daft for having a 2 day meltdown. I'm blaming the hormonesSmile

Working in retail and being pregnant is horrible I totally sympathise with you. All the standing and the walking and the change of temperature and the annoying customers it's a killer. Just moan I did allllll the time! Blush

Only good thing about pregnancy is the lovely baby at the end. Maternity leave is only months away so just count down the days

First timer here too, 24 weeks and haven't had it overly easy - and I too have days where I just seem to moan.
Last night my DP said to me that even if he was the best problem solver ever he wouldn't know where to start with me! Hmm

I have to say u less its my DP or Mum, I tend to keep a bit of a lid on how I'm feeling to others - there's such a pressure for being blooming and enjoying pregnancy. Don't get me wrong I'm over the moon and know I'm on an incredible journey - it's just bloody scary too!
