Hey! Just wondering has anyone been thinking about booking or previously had a newborn photo shoot. They look expensive but are soooooo cute. One website said most clients spend £500-£1000 :S

No. They don't smile or do anything fun when newborn.

£1000? I think a bit of perspective and reality is needed here.

We spent 2500? on our wedding pictures (this was in Italy) which I thought was an absolute fortune at the time but when I look back he was there for the whole day, at least 10 hours in all and touched up 100 prints for our album as well as a DVD and did a fab job.

I am assuming a newborn shoot is only a couple of hours long and you only get half a dozen photos?

Really if parents of a newborn have that kind of money spare better put it in a trust fund and take nice pictures yourself for free?

I would just get a decent camera then you can use it for years x

Hi, the people who did our wedding photos did us a 40 min 'baby shoot' for free, and then we just payed for any photos/prints we wanted, so spent maybe £80 on a few good photos. They got some lovely photos of our DS and I think it was worth it. Worth phoning a few smaller companies to see if they'll do you a similar deal?
