Hi Ladies,

Is anyone else experiencing this, im now 20 weeks pregnant but since about 6 weeks everytime I clean my teeth the taste of the toothpaste is making me so sick, infact its getting worse the taste of the mint is disgusting and instantly makes me throw up and then I feel sick for about a hour after!

Ive tried using different brands and it hasnt made any difference, has anyone experienced this or got any advice?

Thanks

You can get strawberry flavour i think ? Its aimed at kids who dont like the minty taste.

What about euthymol? It's not really minty it has quite an antiseptic taste or maybe a kids toothpaste and floss everyday

I had the same problem. I never really found a toothpaste that didn't make me ill but tried to distract myself while brushing my teeth by putting my one hand under cold running water this worked ... for a while.

I read on another mumsnet thread that using kids toothpaste helps and I tried it and it was definitely an improvement. I just used dc's toddler aqua fresh-still minty but it helped me. I sympathsise.

I just want to add, I got my teeth properly cleaned at about 26 weeks because I had only been doing an OK job at brushing my teeth between 22ish and 26ish weeks because I felt sick. They really needed it too!

I found that foamy toothpastes did this to me earlier on. Arm and hammer was the only paste I could use and I had to give up mouth wash too. It doesn't bother me anymore and I hope it settles down for you soon too x

Lush. Toothy tabs. Tablets you chew. Different flavours.
I was the same. Yuk!
