Hi all, just after some advise really. ( if I can write this between bouts of puking- yuk!)

Woke up at 7am and felt sick then was sick. Thought maybe bit of late morning sickness but then kept being sick every 10 mins or so. Basically continued all morning every 15 mins ish.

Trying to sip water but can't keep it down.

Worried about baby (had 4 miscarriages so probably super sensitive!) ..

Anyone got any words of wisdom?

X

I had very bad food poisoning ( both ends ! ) at 13 weeks. Couldn't eat any thing for 3 days. Water stayed down eventually. When I saw the midwife the following week, she said that the fetus still would have got what it needed from me and even though I was ill the the fetus wasn't. The most important thing is to try to stay hydrated.

Thanks joinourclub

Oh that sounds awful :( poor you

I kind if knew that re sraying hydrated but was irrationally worrying so glad you've confirmed it too.

Think im improving.. Managed a 1.5 hours gap between puking, sipped through nearly a glass of water during that time and then puked it all up - nice! Oh well errrr than every 15 mins.

I had very severe food poisoning with dd1 and was told by my doctor that i should have come to see her earlier - not because there was a risk to the baby, but because i needed to go on a drip as dehydration not an option. i was extremely ill though and it lasted for several days, but maybe see the doctor if you think you are in danger of dehydration? (want to stress that baby was absolutely fine)

Wow that does sound severe hello Hmm

I've now gone an hour and a half without being sick and drunk a agile rehydration sachet in that time and also (sorry if tmi) still passing urine so think I shouldn't be in danger of dehydrating. Still feel gross but 10x better than this morning so hopefully by tomorrow morning will be lots better.

Thanks so much for the baby reassurance too. It's horrid being sick but as long as I know baby ok I can cope with anything!

very happy you're feeling better Smile and don't seem too dehydrated. i'm always confused about what to take seriously and what to grin and bear it, so glad you seem to be improving.

BraveLilBear · 19/02/2013 12:02

Sorry you're having a rotten time. I wound up with some sort of tummy bug at about 11 weeks - and came within 12 hours of needing rehydration so you have my sympathy.

Key symptoms are not passing urine, dry and cracked lips, dry tongue and feeling dizzy and faint. If you start getting like that, call NHS Direct pronto.

Hope you keep on getting better!

Hey Brave. Thanks for responding. I did feel bit dizzy first thing this morning but drank a rehydration thing and felt better and have since even eaten toast.. No sickness today!

So seem to be on the mend thank goodness.

Also drinking flat lemonade.. Not sure if old wives tale but that's going down well too.
