Just wondering where MNers think have the best baby events & how frequently they have them?
I'm a first time mum not due till July & have noticed loads of these lately but don't want to start getting stuff just yet.

Also anywhere you'd recommend signing up too? That send freebies or vouchers & discounts.

What kind of events are you after? I didn't really sign up for any freebies or vouchers because most are supplied by formula companies and I wanted to try to make bfing work without their helpful advice.

Nct nearly new sales are very good for picking up good quality items, have you tried those?

PhieEl06 · 17/02/2013 23:53

Oo sorry I wasn't very clear, like supermarkets have big events on, I've heard they can be quite useful for stocking up on wipes & nappies & other bits & bobs, Boots baby event & such, how often are they held?
& ooo didn't realise that either, I want to try to make bfing work too, although everyone I have told this too thinks I'm doomed to fail, but they have all had negative bfing experience.

I haven't actually looked into those, but I know there's an NCT group in my area so will have to do some research.

congratulations OP

tesco and asda have baby clubs you can sign up to for offers ob their stuff.

Boots is the same and you can get a free changing bag with them.

all the ff companies have them -Aptamil have a very good helpline, I think cow and gate do to. they will support you with bf too. its just nice to know there's someone out there in the early hours when you're worrying about something. maybe just me

other than that - google it though be warned! you'll be inundated with bloody emails offering you crap. Wink

Baby events usually happen around three times a year in the supermarkets etc. As pp said there are clubs you can join for money off vouchers etc. I have found boots pretty much always has some sort of 'offer' on their clothes or nappies though. Coupled with their points scheme 10 points per £ basically 10p off per pound is good.

I'm due in July as well Smile

I think the baby events at supermarkets are quite frequent. I know asda are as I go there for my sister as she hasn't got one close to her.

For the email offers I've done the same as I did for my wedding which is to set up an account just for baby related stuff that I can check as often as I want, get any offers and delete any junk! I've signed up for pretty much everything through this account.

Thank you all for your replies, will definitely sign up too Boots, already have an advantage card!! cogitosum that's a fantastic idea! Can get all junk delivered to that then. When in July are you due? I'm hoping some places have some more before then around May/June time. Smile

Miaow didn't think of Aldi, thank you!!

Sainsburys have one on just now, and if you sign up to their baby club you'll get a nice free gift which is a bag, with samples in it. I still use the bag DS (11months) as its just the perfect size for nappies, wipes etc.

I'm due 12th July... had my 20 week scan this morning and found out I'm having a boy! Smile

If you're based in the south east, bluewater are doing a baby show in April which seems like really good timing as hopefully we'll have enough energy to gp round but close enough that we should be a bit more organised. I'm going to one at the excel this weekend but don't think I'll be getting much if anything as it's too early but apparantly they have good deals for some of the big stuff

PhieEl06 · 18/02/2013 19:46

Thank you minicreamegg, will sign up to them now!! Smile
Ooo congratulations cogitosum I'm due the 20th, 20 week scan is two weeks tomorrow, ooo that sounds good, I'm midlands tho unfortunately.
Maybe will see what NEC or Bullring has on.
