Oh the ENDLESS things we can't do

I was just told this morning that I couldn't have eyelash extensions because you have to lie down for so long!!!!!

When I've given birth I'm going to sit in a jacuzzi eating brie and Mr Whippy and having my eyelashes done.

I was in our jacuzzi bath every night for the last trimester. Bliss.

I wasn't eating Brie though.

Can't lie down for that long? But what about when you sleep!?

I am feeling your pain. Am going out with some friends for lunch today, it's a set afternoon tea type thing, and am so worried as I haven't told them I'm pregnant yet (I'm only 6 weeks). I know I can't drink too much tea, can't have any sandwiches with brie or soft cheese in, can't have any alcohol and I'm also a veggie which makes things additionally hard. I'm worried they're going to suss me by my avoiding everything on the plate!! haha.

I agree with you, am going to binge on all the bad things after birth!!

Fairy you can ask for the bed to be put on an incline. I did that the last time I got a facial. I think the concern if you are lying flat of your back. They raised the top of the bed and have no problem doing the facial so I am sure they could do the lashes that way.

Ha! I've just been reliably informed by a (male) friend that I can't go ten pin bowling....I'm only 10 wks!

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and have had Hollywood lash extensions throughout, bar the odd 2 week break every now and then.

Only started to get uncomfortable laying on my back from about 25 weeks, so I just popped a pillow under my back and one under my head. Problem solved. And if I get uncomfortable laying still for too long..I move!

Unless it was your beautician who said you cannot have it done and therefore refused, just go and get it done. You'll be fine

Blimey I've never thought about pregnancy in the respect of what i can't/shouldn't do!

Its my 40th bday during my pregnancy & even that won't be much different as i hardly ever drink.

I remember just finding my massive tummy invonvient during my previous pregnancies,probably from about 32 weeks.

Who told you you can't hae eyelash extensions?

Are you also only allowed to sleep in 30 minute bursts?!

I wish people would back the hell off pregnant women.

I really miss rare steak and a nice glass of wine, runny eggs, pate. Being able to sit and lie down comfortable. Think the list is endless!

And also with the lying down for extensions, I had a massage and they just put a pillow under my knees and raised the bed a little. Comfiest I had been in a long time.

One of my friends lives in Finland and she thought it was hysterical when I was shocked she was using the sauna while pregnant - it's recommended over there. She said its probably not recommended here because we don't know how to sauna properly

why cant you have mr whippy??

I was refused a massage when I was BF'ing last time because it could 'poison the milk' so don't expect it to end when the baby arrives!

I thought this was going to be where we could rant about being unable to tie our shoelaces, lie on our front, etc!
Last week my dentist wouldn't fix my filing because I might go into labour. I'm term so I said that's OK. Plus more ethical than leaving a pregnant woman in pain. (I found a different dentist)

Mr whippy is because of the listeria risk I think?

Oh dear, Im 30 weeks pregnant & recovering from a fractured spine.

Yesterday I cleared the shed of junk, carried 10 sacks out to the car & took them to the tip.

Hoovered & jet washed the car.

Went food shopping & carried it all indoors.

Hoovered & did laundry.

Took the dog for an hours walk.

Felt exhausted when I sat down at 6pm, today Im resting!

Living in the UK the chances of bad things happening from eating Brie or lying down are utterly, vanishingly small. You'd be more likely to get hit by bits of meteorite or something :o The only thing I wouldn't chance was Mr Whippy - but that's only because I've seen the ice cream van man's fingernails - you could grow spuds in there...

Unfotunately it was the beautician who said I couldn't have them done - and looked at me like I was the baby killer when I said 'can't you just put a cusion under me' (I'm going to find another one) To be fair, at 22 weeks I am getting uncomfortable lying on my back but I think with a bed tilt and a cusion I'll be fine...

My MIL stopped a heavily pregnant woman in the supermarket the other day - almost hysterically running over to her, batted the goats cheese out of her hands and said 'YOU CAN'T EAT GOATS CHEESE!!!!!' woman was like 'errr... I'm cooking it so it's ok...' MIL: Oh thank god, I thought you were about to kill the baby'...

You have to laugh though, don't you...

Yes I have had this one!!! what about 'don't lean forward to pick something up, you could squish the baby!'

Can you not have them done whilst sitting up?

You can eat soft cheese as long as it's not mould ripened cheese.

The best one got was when I was preg with ds1, summer born. I was 19 and slim with a neat bump and a nice tan so I wore low jeans and a top that didn't cover all my bump. Sat in the sun one day at uni and a woman rather hysterically told me I MUST cover up my bump or the sun would make the baby overheat and the amniotic fluid would be boiling....

Brought a whole new meaning to 'boil in the bag'

I went on a cruise last year while pregnant and practically drained the self-serve Mr Whippy machine daily. It appears to have done neither DD nor I any harm.

My mum went hysterical when I was pegging the washing out whilst pg! She said I would snap the umbilical cord if I lifted my arms above my head.

This is from the woman who has given birth to three children and didn't even know what a placenta was.
