37wks tomorrow. period pain like cramps and lower backache . could this be the begining of labour?ur?

Since yesterday afternoon have had cramps that feel like period pain and pain in lower back. The pain is manageable but feel like its a bit more today. Feels a better when im walking around. Ive had braxton hicks before but never felt lower back pain. Its my first dc . Do you think its a possibility this is the start of labour?

Could be. Or it could be your body messing with you... Only time will tell I'm afraid.

I guess its a waiting game. Had a warm shower. So far things seem to have calm down. Im off to repack my hospital bag just in case.

I've had similar for a week now along with really painful pelvis as pressure from baby so bad it makes it hard to walk....and no signs of baby. I'm 38 wks with my second child. Didn't get any of this with dc1 just woke one night in proper labour so was hoping this was the start of things but nada!

Its not nice our bodies are playing tricks on us. Just had a lay down and period like pain is back. Cant imagine a week of is it or isnt it labour pain. It will drive me crazy.lol.

Hi KF, I remember you from the TTC thread

I'm 36 weeks and also been having period type pain in my back. SIL labour started with this and she didn't know she was in labour (although her waters had gone). Just to say hope it progresses and good luck with it all :)
