Hi! I am very early pregnant (about 4 weeks) with my 2nd baby and have noticed this morning a very slight brown stained discharge. I also have back ache but not lower back ache more upper back............I am worrying now this might be something not very nice. Has anyone else experienced anything similar. Thanks

A lot of women experience this early on and it's often from implantation. I had some light pink CM and luckily had read that this is completely normal. I think the time to start worrying is if you have bright red blood flow.

I was also having backache similar to that which I have when I've got AF. But again, completely normal. I'm now on week 6+1 and have no symptoms whatsoever anymore! Waiting for them, to kick in maybe in a week or so!

Having said this, if it lasts for a few days, you are well within your rights to contact your hospital's maternity unit and ask to go in for a check-up.

Keep us posted and congratulations!!!

Is the pain one sided? I had a UTI that tracked to my kidney at 8 weeks and I had really bad one sided pain. Course of antibiotics (safe in pregnancy) cleared it up. It's worth contacting your GP if it doesn't settle down to check if there's a reversible cause for your symptoms.

Like Serious says, Spotting, whilst terrifying, is quite common in early pregnancy. I'd get checked out just to put your mind at ease.

I felt like I'd been kicked in the back when I was 4 weeks pregnant.
