Hi all, I'm 25 weeks pregant with my first baby. I had what I thought was just "morning sickness" (I was being sick up to 20 times a day, but somehow still battling on and going to work etc - feel drained thinking about those days) but at 17 weeks, when I could no longer even keep water down, I got admitted to hospital where I had to stay for 3 days on a drip. It took 11 drip bags in the end to get my hydrated. Got diagnosed with hyperemesis. Anyway, so as soon as they gave me cyclizine in injection form, the vomiting stopped almost straight away so I was prescribed cyclizine in tablet form. I am very lucky in the sense that since getting the cyclizine, I haven't vomited (the tablets don't work so well for some people). The only times I have been sick had been when I have tried not taking the tablets for a day to see if I can cope without them (which evidently I can't!) I wish I had been prescibed hese straight away but hey-ho!
Anyway, so I am not 25 weeks pregnant and still need cyclizine. I have managed to get down from 3 tablets a day to 2 tablets a day, but I guess what I'm asking is, has anyone else had to take them a long way through their pregnancy? I guess I just need reassuring that what I am taking isn't going to harm my baby because I really can't cope with the sickness that I have when I don't take the tablets.
