I ask as I'm poss 5/6 weeks and haven't felt v sick whereas I felt v sick at this point the first time with ds (though not so much with dd).
Of course, the reason I'm asking is I'm worrying I might have another mc. But honest answers please!

Hi cupcakes. I was really sick with my ds (every moment of everyday for the whole nine months) but was only a little for 12 weeks with dd (mostly in evenings/at night). But I was never sick at all or even felt sick with the pregnancy that I m/c. I m/c at 9 weeks. If it helps though my B/F was v sick with dd and not at all with ds so think it is all down to that preg being unique rather than any probs.

Lots of congrats though for preg and do hope all is well. x

hi cupcakes try not to worry, I had no morning sickness with my ds whatsoever but this time i have, but it didn't kick in till about 6/7 weeks i think.

good luck to you Smile

I was very sick with my dd. Also I had alot of blackouts.

This pregnancy has been illness free so far and I'm 24 weeks now.

Congratulations to you Smile

Thought I was going to get away without sickness but it kicked in at 7 weeks which was a little later than previous time.

controlfreaky · 28/04/2006 14:37

yup. sick as parrot 1st time.... not at all 2nd time...

cupcakes · 28/04/2006 14:38

That's all reassuring.
whizz - when I mc in March I started off feeling nauseous for a few weeks then it faded away (which was my first indicator that something was wrong).
Strong smells like the cheese counter or cigarette smoke makes me feel sick but then it passes.

what worried me today was seeing a picture of me on ds's 2nd birthday (when I was 5 weeks pg with dd) where I was lying down as I felt so bad. I then started comparing that with how I am now.

Hi there! Was absolutely blooming through first pregnancy. Soooo sick from 6 to 22 weeks with second. In and out of hospital - dehydration etc. most unpleasant.

neena28 · 28/04/2006 14:45

I really do think you have to take every preg as it comes. My 1st was a nightmare from start to finish in every possible way, 2nd ended with m/c but 3rd was a dream and dd is a delight too so maybe how they make you while they are inside is linked to them full stop. Rubbish I'm sure but true in the case of my two.

Keep your chin up I'm sure all will be well. :)

neena28 · 28/04/2006 14:46

Sorry neena28 and whizz are same. Only just joined and couldn't decide on a name. Blush

I had slight nausea with dd from about 6-12 weeks, but with ds I had awful nausea which lasted all day ,adn some vomiting, for 4 months.

In between I had a miscarriage. I felt pretty ill from very early on and was so relieved when I suddenly felt better at about 5/6 weeks - a few days later I miscarried. So yes, each pregnancy is unique.

Congratulations and good luck!

Megglevache · 28/04/2006 14:53

First one and I was terribly sick, until 28 weeks!
Second one and I had no nausea whatsoever.

Nbg · 28/04/2006 14:54

Just take it easy Cupcakes Smile
Easier said than done I suppose but you know what I mean.

Do you have a booking in appt yet?

motherinferior · 28/04/2006 14:56

I was sick a bit with my second pregnancy but not nearly as horribly nauseous as with my first. I really hope this reassures you!

sniff · 28/04/2006 15:10

I was really sick with this pregnancy but not at all sick till 10 weeks with the other 2

zephyrcat · 28/04/2006 15:14

Hiya - with my First pregnancy I had no sickness whatsoever throughout the whole thing, but at the time had no idea that sickness was a good thing to have so thought nothing of it!
However with DS I was sooooo sick right the way through!

I think it just depends as one pregnancy seems to differ completely to another.

Congratulations on your news :):)

Olihan · 28/04/2006 15:15

With DS I had very occasional nausea, with DD I had absolutely nothing and this time I'm only just 6 weeks and I've felt nauseous since I found out. Glad a lot of people have had the same experience as I was getting paranoid I was having twins! Smile

ProfYaffle · 28/04/2006 15:17

I wasn't sick with dd at all, was also completely unaware that sickness is supposed to be a good thing. Was exactly the same with my 2nd, brief, pregnancy as well.

The responses you've had here look encouraging.
Smile

thebecster · 28/04/2006 15:21

Sorry to hijack, but these responses are making me feel so much better! I've been sick every single day all the way through this pregnancy (36 wks now), and whenever my DH has talked about whether we'd like more than one kid I've felt terrified at the idea of being pregnant again. Especially as my sister nearly died of hyperemesis gravidarum when she was having her second child (her oesophagus ruptured). So maybe I could have another baby, maybe it wouldn't be so bad next time around... Thanks cupcakes for starting the discussion - I really hope everything goes well for you with this pregnancy.

cupcakes · 28/04/2006 16:00

Am glad this has been helpful to someone else.
My dh keeps telling me I should relax and stop worrying as it won't make any difference. It is hard though.
Nbg - I had my booking in appoinmtnet last week and am hopefully having an early scan as I can't be sure of dates.
