Omg I'm Pregnant, Help!!!

Just found out today after going to the poundshop, that i am pregnantShock

I'm on the combined contraceptive pill, microgyon 30 and have taken them like clockwork. Periods all normal in all my seven day pill-free breaks. But this month i was due on the 10th, the 10th came and went and it is now the 13th, so i panicked and thought just maybe it's stress or something, took the test expecting it to be negative, but wanted to check none the less and it is Positive-2 lines!!

Don't know what to think about it just yet as i already have 4dc and this was very unsuspected.
I haven't a clue how to tell dh, i know he isn't going to want to hear this news and would like help with a way to break it to him. Would it be wrong to leave it a few days or should i tell him tonight? Or should i wait until i have taken a decent test, not one from a pound store?

Can't believe my contraception has failed, in all the times between having children, the pill has always worked for meConfused

Have you been ill this month? On anitibiotics?

Could the second line be an evaporation line?

NotADragonOfSoup · 13/02/2013 17:25

Nothing wrong with waiting to tell him until you are sure though - one of the digital tests that leaves no room for misreading the result would maybe be a good idea.

defineme · 13/02/2013 17:25

I think, if I was him, I'd want to know why you hadn't told him straight away.
I'd tell my dh as soon as I'd done it-in fact I would have told hiom about the test.
What is holding you back?
Are you worried you'll feel differently about the pregnancy?

I'm really sorry your contraception has failed.

Beatrixpotty · 13/02/2013 17:53

Hope you are happy but sorry your contraception failed.Poundshop tests work fine, that's what I used. This time round I didn't tell my DH for about 4 days..it was planned but we were going to stay with his family and I didn't want anyone to know so as not to raise suspicion and have to admit to MIL before 12 week scan..Keeping to myself for a few days was quite nice.It will also give you time to come to terms with it if it unexpected. You don't actually need to tell him when you did the test.

TinkyPeet · 13/02/2013 17:54

I conceived my first on microgynon. Same as you I took it properly with no antibiotics or anything. Just happened, it's not 100% baby-free, the only thig that is 100% is abstainance!
Agree with above I would tell your dh as soon as possible then you can figure it out together based on how you both feel.
Good luck xx

Thankyou everyone for your advice.
Still am yet to tell him, not sure whether to do it tonight, i still don't quite believe it myself yet so wondering whether to buy a digital to confirm before telling him.
I'm going to have a long think, as i know this is going to be a huuuge shock for himShock.
He may be pleased, he may not, but either way this was not on the cards.

Go and buy a digital test to be 100% sure you are before you say anything to you dp

PinkPanties · 14/02/2013 09:39

Tested again this morning, couldn't afford a digital test, so took a normal pink line one. There is a faint line, what does this mean, does it mean positive?

Still unsure whether to tell dhConfused

A line is a line, if you've had two tests with lines I'd say that's pretty accurate. Cheaper tests seem to show up +VE earlier than digital tests too.

NotADragonOfSoup · 14/02/2013 09:54

I think it's unlikely you've misread it twice. I think you have to tell him.

How do you feel about it?
