Hi ladies :-)

A bit of background.. I had a missed miscarriage at nearly 13 weeks in September, have had a rough time coming to terms with it, we had been ttc for 19 months but feeling much better about it now. We have been ttc since the miscarriage and I just got a positive but faint pregnancy test, the libe is definitely pink and i've got a few symptoms that i recognise from last time. The reason that I'm worried is because my period is late by about 4 days ish.. my last period was the 8th or 9th of jan..but it was an early pregnancy test that says 5 days before missed period. If It is that sensitive shouldn't the line be quite dark by now? It took a few minutes to come up. Sorry I know I'm being ridiculous worrying about the strength of the line but because of last time I'm a nervous wreck!
I don't want to get excited just incase.. I feel more like bursting into tears! Blush

I can't work out how to put a pic of the test on here if anyone wanted to see! I'm a bit of a thicko when it comes to technology! x

A line is a line so congratulations! I don't think the thickness necessaily means anything - was it FMU?

I had a MMC last year- i had a really early positive with thick line, however in October i got a late positive after a few negatives and now 19 weeks pregnant so I don't think the initial test gives any indication of the viability of the pregnancy,

I do understand how anxious you are though and won't tell you to relax as I know it's next to impossible but one thing I learnt on here that helped is to think
'today I am pregnant' and be happy taking each day as it comes.

Congratulations again!

I'm currently 9+2 and my test was really faint too. I've heard it said on here, a line is a line! I know what you mean about not wanting to get too excited though. Fingers crossed that all goes well for you, and if you're not already, I'd start taking folic acid. :)

MrsMangoBiscuit · 13/02/2013 09:19

Cross post! See, "a line is a line" Grin

BangersAndMashh · 13/02/2013 09:22

I'm currently 25+2 and only had a very faint line right up to about 9 weeks, only then did I get a dark line that appeared quickly. I did one of them clear blue digital tests just so I could see the word "pregnant" and that put my mind at ease :)

Oh, and congratulations!! Grin

cogitosum · 13/02/2013 09:23

Sorry just relised my post wasn't clear... I had a MMC in JUne after dark early positives (I did about 6!) and then still pregnant after late faint positive in October

beckie90 · 13/02/2013 09:34

Hi a line is a line so congratulations. My test was 2 days late and very very faint (also 5 days before one) anyway it turned out I had ovulated 3 days late so techincally my period wasn't due till the day after cause of late ovulation. So it could be 1 of many reasons (the test quality, hcg level variation, late ovulation, etc) congratulations x x

Oh thanks so much everyone, it's such a relief just to talk about it! I'm currently childminding a 2 and 5 year old.. Don't think they will understand quite as well ;-). Thanks for the reassurance, I know I definitely won't believe it until I get a baby in my arms! It's nice to hear from others that have been in the same position, I just feel so emotional.. Just got teary at a children's tv program oh dear! Just told my mum and sister, all my family are a great support which is brill.
I'll take another one tomorrow, fx it will be darker, I've also got a clearblue digi from last time so could take that in a few days.

I'm off to a children's zoo/play centre now in the pouring rain.. Joy!

Thanks again ladies you are all so lovely, i'm sure i will have more questions/ worries today!xx

I agree with pps, a line is a line!! However, it might be worth grabbing a Clear Blue digital to put your mind at rest.

Congratulations, and keep us updated!! Grin

StrawbsAndCream · 13/02/2013 14:17

Sorry didn't have much time to post earlier! Yes cogitosum it was fmu, wish it was evening wee i wouldn't be worrying as much! Will do another tomorrow morning. Already taking folic acid so that's covered :-)
If all does go to plan I will have a 6/7 month old at our wedding in May next year, this was one of our last months trying before we had to stop in time for the wedding! Told DF straight away this morning, he is so desperate for one I don't want to get his hopes up yet. Will do a clear blue digi in a few days phoenix if I am brave enough! Did one every week last time to watch it go up properly! Along with the 20 others Blush

I have got mild period like pains which I remember having last time, felt like I was coming on a few days ago, kept on checking and then nothing. Did anyone else have that?
I also feel a bit guilty, as if I've forgotten about our first baby which is ridiculous I know, there's not a day I don't go without thinking of what could have been, due date is in march so that will be tough. I just need to relax I think!

Thanks again ladies xxx

I had the period type pains both times

Congratulations again!

KatieMiddleton · 13/02/2013 15:51

My negative test and then such a faint test we had to hold it at an angle to see is 3 months old :)

I also had cramps around period time and a bleed at 11 weeks but she made it and she's gorgeous.

Kilkers · 13/02/2013 16:20

Strawbs don't feel guilty for feeling that way. I am currently 8+6 and the due date of the pregnancy I lost last July would have been next week, the 20th February. It's natural and normal to get swept up in it all again, I also find that the anxiety of worrying about my pregnancy this time has distracted me from thinking about the last one. I still find myself thinking about 'what could have been' all the time but we all have a lot on our plate at the moment!

Congratulations and let us know how you get on with your testing tomorrow x

StrawbsAndCream · 13/02/2013 18:36

I'm afraid I've just started bleeding with quite bad cramps :-( I knew things weren't right. Feel absolutely gutted. Just had a really good cry with my mum, DF is in work until late but I've rung him. It started about 2 hours ago was really dark brown but now it's not much at all. I was wondering do you think I should go to the doctors just so it's on my records? I know they won't do any testing or anything until you've had 3 miscarriages, but will they count this? Thanks for all your support xx

:( oh no. Yes to going to GP just to be sure one way or the other.

Kilkers · 13/02/2013 19:29

So sorry Strawbs, you should definitely go and see a doctor as they can prescribe you painkillers if you need them. They will also probably want to refer you for a scan at some point. Hugs x

gardenpixie32 · 13/02/2013 20:18

Like the other posters have said, a line is a line. I got BFP last February and it was so faint that DP didn't believe I was pregnant. I now have 20 week old twins asleep upstairs.

Congratulations.

cogitosum · 13/02/2013 21:35

I'm really sorry.

Definitely go to gp. It may not be the worst some people do have some bleeding throughout pregnancy.

Really hope it's not a miscarriage. Thinking of you
