13 weeks and light bleeding. Anyone else had this?

I don't understand what my body is doing to me. I'm 13 weeks pg today and have started bleeding again. This happened 3 weeks ago, I had scan and they found no cause. So I don't know what to do this time. Do I leave it on the assumption that it's probably nothing to worry about? It is very light just like last time and I have no other bad symptoms at all.

Anyone ever experienced this sort of thing with previous pregnancies? If so did you ever get told what the cause might be?

I bled in all my pg's. With ds1 I bled later on. I'd give your mw or epu a call to make sure. They told me that even though bleeding in pg is'nt normal, it is quite common. My current pg (I'm 20+1) I bled for over a month, very heavy. Thought it was yet another mc but turned out to be excess womb lining that needed shedding.
Good luck Smile

i would suggest, you get yourself either to your gp (if you need referring) or straight to the epu if your nearest maternity unit has one. bleeding in pregnancy is common, i bled off and on til 23 wks with my first, but its always best to get it checked. if you already have your hand held notes, there should be a number to ring on them. its always best to get any bleeding checked out.

they can't always say what causes it, i guess there are some many blood vessels doing so many things in there, it could be down to almost anything.

don't panic, but take things easy and get checked over

Thanks for the advice. The early assessment unit would not let me self-refer but thankfully I managed to get GP appointment and he is sending me for scan this afternoon. Will let you know what happens.

Thank you.

hiya, i bled at 13 weeks with my 3rd baby, but not with any of the others. they said this can sometimes happen around the time that you would have normaly had a period. hope all goes well today, let us know how you get on.

Hello HopingCat - I had a light bleed for the first 4 months lasting a couple of days when I would normally have been due for a period. Always best to get it checked though.

Hope all is well.

any news?, fingers crossed for you, x.

Hi.
Have been for scan and everything is fine with the baby. They found no cause for the bleeding so did internal exam as well (really not nice!) but still didn't find any cause. At least I am reassured now and can only hope it stops by itself and doesn't happen again.

Thanks for all your support.

I have had bleeding quite a few times with my pregnancy. I was referred to the day assessment unit each time where they scan and do internals.

No reason has been found for the bleeding so it just must be "one of those things!"
