hi all,

I found out I had a blighted ovum and MC on the 9th January. I have just done a pregnancy test and it is showing a BFP with a very strong line. feeling very emotional and will go see my oncologist tomorrow. can I get pregnant again so soon?

has this happened to any mumsnetters before? any advice will be welcomed.

I have no experience but I have read of lots of stuff saying you are more firtile in the short while after a mc, maybe someone with more knoedge will be along soon xx

Missingthemincepies · 12/02/2013 12:25

Yes it's possible, but it's also possible this could be left over hormones from the mc I'm afraid. Depends a bit on how far along you were. My mc was just after 5 weeks and pg test negative within a few days. By 12 weeks it could take 6 weeks to get a negative.

Best bet at this stage is to keep testing once a week and ask for an early scan.

Very sorry for your loss, and sorry you're needing to see an oncologist too. Must be a very difficult time for you.

Or you could ask for blood tests, one now and one in 48 hours. If the hcg doubles, you're pregnant again.

Oh that's a relief! So glad you don't need an oncologist.

If you were only 7 weeks, then I think you should brace yourself for good news. Very best of luck tomorrow.

it was good news today... very early and have to go back for another scan in two weeks. Grin trying to relax and hoping this time all goes well!
