What do summer babies wear??

I have just thought that I have no idea what my DS3 due in July will need to wear, how many layers, pram suits, blankets etc!

My DS1 was a december baby and DS2 was October so both needed to be pretty well wrapped up but now I am not sure what I will need to put on DS3!
Will he still need vest and babygro? will he need a pramsuit or something lighter? and will he need blankets if we go out etc?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but just realised now that I have no idea what to do with a summer baby!!

My DS1 (born in May) lived in vests and sleepsuits. (Vest only when it was really warm) If we went out we'd take two cellular blankets to use as needed.

Well it really depends what the weather is like in July! Last July was a chilly wash-out. However, a farmer friend of my mother's says the summer this year is going to be good, so I'm hoping he's right.

As this is your 3rd I'm guessing you have everything anyway, from vests to snowsuits, so I'd just assume vest and babygro and if it's baking hot, then just vest. If it's cooler then cardigan or pram blanket too.

Thanks for the advice. If it is a cold summer I will be alright but it was just if it's hot! Smile

If it gets really hot just strip baby off! Or leave a nappy on, put baby in a shady spot for fresh air and enjoy the summer. I'm due end of June and hoping its going to be easier than ds who had to be wrapped up all winter. He hated the fuss.

Depends on weather! I had one June baby and expecting a July one. He mostly wore vest & trouser (with feet) combo, or vest & babygro, or a little shorty outfit. When really hot just a vest. If a bit cool, a light cardi or long sleeved top as extra. It was a hot summer that year! Had to get him a little summer hat & made sure to stay in the shade.

Enjoy!

I had a June baby, and she just wore vest and sleepsuit. When going for a walk in the buggy, we would wrap her in a cellular blanket. If it got hot we would strip off the blanket, then the sleepsuit if really hot. All about layers for the summer. sometimes we did a light cardi and trousers with the vest. Definitely easy having a summer baby! We went on a 2 week holiday to New York and it was boiling and she was pretty much just in a nappy the whole time.

I reckon you'd be looking at a babygrow at the most.

DS was a August baby and spent his first few weeks in a vest and sleep suit/t shirt and footed trousers set with a cardi if it was chilly. He hates being too hot with a passion, so the less clothes the better a lot of the time. Those little shortie romper type vests were brilliant too. Smile
