Ribs ache at night

Hi ladies,
I'm 25+2 and for about the last week, I've been having real bad aching ribs for about an hour at night. It's uncomfortable but then goes after a while and I don't get in the day. Does anyone else suffer this? X

Yes, I did for weeks!! It's baby using your ribcage as a lovely resting place for hands or, more likely, feet! It can feel almost like your ribcage or bump is bruised sometimes it can be so painful, but sadly not much can be done!

Try shifting into different positions and see if baby shifts :)

Hi Bunnychan. You really do have my sympathies. I am suffering really badly with rib pain (my whole rib cage), so much so it is driving me demented and keeps me awake a lot at night. I am presently seeing the physio for PGP and have been given palates exercises to help reduce this. I also have a heat pack permanently attached to my ribs. Posture can help both sitting and standing. Good luck, I hope you get some improvement.

*palates to reduce the rib pain that is.

Yup, in bed and any time I lie on my side (eg on sofa). I'm 33 wks and have had it for a while. It's not too awful for me, I just find I have to turn frequently at night and that stops the ache setting in too badly.

Yup, I do. It's horrible. I've found taking my bra off as soon as I get in from work helps a little! I'm 36+2 and have had it for weeks. I can feel a bum quite close to my ribs, so suspect there's a wee foot sticking up there, too.

Glad it's not just me; I asked my SILs about this but both never had it. I never thought it could be from limbs though lol. I have to take my bra off too as that does help a little. Thanks for your responses x
