Cant find heartbeat at 16weeks.

How worried should i be if a senior midwife cant find babys heartbeat at 16weeks!?

Couldn't find mine either dd is now 2. What did mw say?

Just that it might be too soon and theres isnt a need for a scan. I remember they heard a heartbeat at this stage with my first baby so thats why im so worried

What did the mw say?
Have you got any more appointments?
Are your dates definite?

Don't worry: my mw said at my 16 week that they can't always find them yet x

Our area the MW don't even try till 20 weeks apparently. I think at 16 weeks it can still be very hit or miss really. Are you feeling any movements yet :)

My MW didn't even check until 22/24 weeks?? (next appt after 20 wk scan)

I had my 16week check up on Friday and was told not to worry if they couldn't find it, they did find it but I can understand you being worried , I think I'd go for a private scan to reassure myself if I were you even thought you are more than likely fine .

This time your placenta coul be at the front and in the way, try not to worry xx

Yes mine wouldn't try until after 20 week scan for exactly that reason!

My paranoia got the best of me and i went up and got a quick scan to make sure everything was okay! Baby is fine and hiding behind the placenta! Thanks for the reassurance everyone x

Glad everything ok a senior midwife couldn't find mine at 24 weeks although baby did kick the doppler so wasn't too concerned
