Hi, you should not start taking them until your baby is term, so 36/37 weeks. Check with your midwife before hand. Dosage varies depending on the strength of the capsules - it's best to start low and build up slowly.

saycool is right. Don't start til term and dose varies. I got mine from holland and Barrett and it said on the pot how many to take. I started low and worked up. Supposedly good for improving effectiveness of contractions but no evidence it brings on labour. Labour with DS was 5.5 hours so I'll certainly be using them again this time.

I have been having a cup once a day from 37weeks, and intend to build up to 2cups at 38weeks, 3cups at 39, etc. However, an antenatal friend has been having 6cups a day since 36weeks!
