Loud music- am I harming baby?

Hi all, just having a bit if a worry,

My second job is as a singer in a couple of bands. I'm worrying every time we rehearse that I'm going to damage my baby's ears and DH is worrying too.

Rehearsals are really loud and I can feel the vibrations running through me! We play for about three hours a week with an extra three on weekends with gigs - but not every weekend.

Every nurse/ midwife I ask say 'I'm sure it will be fine' but I do love a good worry. Any thoughts?

Thank you!

Hi,

With DS I was gigging right up until my due date 4 times a week. There are absolutely no problems with him, except that he has a tendency towards being rather loud and exuberant, but I put that down to him being a 6yo boy. There's nothing wrong with his hearing or anything like that. Was wondering whether this time I'm not playing enough loud music to the bump...

You may even find that when the baby is born it is more tolerant of noisy atmospheres and sleeps better. I know a guy who teaches bagpipes and his daughter slept in a carrycot in the same room as he held his lessons Smile

I wouldn't worry to much. If you think about having your head underwater in a bath and someone playing a stereo to the side of the bath, the water muffles the noise quite a lot.

Csmm thank you so much for getting back to me! I was having a right old fret there and so was DH (but I also think he's worrying about me being out too late too bless him)

I was really not enjoying gigging as I was just worrying too much about baby.

They are resilient little things aren't they?
