Starting to look at ordering our cot and it got me thinking, how do I know where is best for bedding. I will need a mattress, blankets, sheets. Anything else? Where would you recommend? So far I have had a look at mothercare, and John Lewis. Is one particular shop or type better or is it just personal preference?
I will also need bedding for Moses basket/carry cot from pram so if I get 3 sets for cot and 3 sets for pram do you think that will be ok?

Matalan is good for inexpensive sheets etc, and I got mattresses from kiddiecare - may be worth a look?

I used John Lewis, but doesn't really matter. Do check sizes as they do vary and it's nice to open the packet and have a feel of the sheet. I used the soft flanalette type ones for bottom sheet and normal for top sheet.

I got:
4 bottom sheets, used them all. Especially before I got the tip of using a muslin under the head of a sticky baby rather than change the sheet each time.
2 top sheets, rarely used, could have managed with 1
3 cellular blankets, 1 would have been enough
3 Moses basket fitted sheets, pillowcases would have done the job just fine.
3 pram blankets all given as gifts after birth.
Mattress from babymatressesonline last time and this time, both v good and cheaper than shops.
And most vitally, 2 x1 tog sleeping bags and 2 x2.5tog bags for winter. I used the merino ones which are pretty expensive but great and suitable from 7lb.

Very helpful thank you.
I'll have a look there for mattresses cheers.
My SiL said she has some sleeping bags I can use, so waiting to see what she gives me before I buy any more of them. Need to check the size/tog etc.
