My friend is 37+2 and while I'd like to get a present for her DS when he's born too, I'd really like to get her a little something just for her. I remember after having DD, I felt sometimes like just an extension of DD and people only talked to me about babies/nappies/sleep, and I really missed myself IYSWIM.
I don't want to do the usual wine/cheese thing as she's already got that covered, but I'm at a bit of a loss.
What would you like to receive for you?
(Sorry of this has been done a million times!)

Thats very sweet of you. Are you thinking of getting her something after the birth? If you are and she has had food aversions during her pregnancy then maybe you can make her a hamper of foods she loved but couldnt eat during pregnancy. Im speaking from experience. Ive told dh and dm to bring me food (including lindor chocolate) that i havent been able to eat assuming my appetite will get back to normal after the birth.

You could get her a delivery saver for her favourite supermarket (Tesco is £36 for 3 months).

One of my friends gave me a little luxury basket with some mini wines, moisturiser etc. The most useful and brilliant part was a couple of bottles of fast drying nail varnish! It was so lovely to be able to glam up a bit, but in the time frame of life with a newborn! I now always try and buy a couple of bottles for any friends who give birth.
