Opaque maternity tights - a revelation

Ok so I have bought a pair (talking the 60-100 denier thicker opaque types) last week but at around the £9 mark after adding on delivery charges I'm horrified at the cost of maternity tights - even ebay doesn't really have any bargains.
Cue me moaning at work - and a fabulous tip which I have tried today and works well. Make 2 snips on the waistband part of normal tights and they do the job (And haven't fallen down all day!) The tight big doesn't dig in and the rest is stretchy enough to go around the bump!
Probably won't continue to work if (maybe when!) I get really big - but should keep costs down for the next couple of months!

I get mine from H&M I think it was a fiver for two pairs and they're pretty good, but I will use your tip because I have a tonne of normal
tights I'm too fat for now. How do they not fall down if you cut the waistband though?

Ooh good tip! I'm only 15 weeks and most of my clothes still fit (mainly because I lost so much weight with the morning sickness!) but tights are the one thing I'm having an issue with. Will try this tomorrow!

I guess they're tight enough around the bump to not fall down? May not work for all but its made my life easier!

I saw the H&M ones and they still add on about £3 for delivery and were out of stock till mid February as they def look the cheapest. Whenever I'm in the shops they are always out of my size :-(

Am finding the same problem with jeans - the racks look full of them but once you start digging into the rail - they're all either really tiny sizes or really big sizes with no 12's or 14's!
