Last two days it doesnt seem to matter how much sleep I get, i literally feel dead on my feet. I can hardly function and im trying to look after my 2 yr old.
My stomach muscles feel like ive done a 1000 situps last night. Is this normal?? Im 16 weeks and 4 days.
I really feel like crying im beside myself.

Hiya - this is the worst bit, but you should start to come out of the fog when you head into the 2nd trimester. It sucks - but you just need to get through it I'm afraid! :(

Could you be anaemic? Best to ask your MW/GP to check you over as at this stage the extreme tiredness should be wearing off a bit.

My tiredness didn't even begin to shift until about 18 weeks and it's still pretty bad at 21+4. I do things in fits and starts and then spend 3 hours sitting on the sofa with my laptop.

I totally sympathise. I felt the same at 16 weeks and asked my midwife if I might be anaemic. She said, "no love, you're just pregnant" (!). Hope you start feeling better soon! X

I'm 16+2 and feeling the same way. On top of it I've just recovered from HG so my energy has gone! Apparently we should start feeling better soon...

Your iron levels might be a bit low. My iron tests came back as low end of normal, and almost as soon as I started taking Spatone my tiredness lifted.

It would give it a go.

You should start to feel better in a few weeks - i was the same with 2nd and had 20 month old so can sympathise. Are you working? If not nap in day when your two year old does - I found that life saver. I also tried to go to bed really early (ie at 7.30pm!) once or twice a week. Good luck!
