i am 18 + 5 and since about week 11 every so often (happening more lately) i keep getting a sharp stabbing pain in my left side, very low down. its ALWAYS in the same place, takes my breath away and is very painful. it eventually goes but can take a while and literally has me doubled up in pain, and have had to pull over whilst driving before when it started.

i completely forgot to mention it to MW at my last appointment, but just wondered if anyone had any ideas as to what it could be? could it just be everything moving about? trapped wind? i have my next appt in about 6 weeks time and i really dont want to have to bother anyone with it as it doesnt feel important enough. its just getting a bit annoying now. has anyone else had this?

I am 14 weeks and since about 10 have been getting pains like this. I have read a lot about round ligament pain, which starts in the second trimester and is a sharp stabbing pain in your groin, hip and sides. (Apparently the pain follows the bikini line of a high-legged swimsuit) It's where the ligaments around the uterus are stretching and growing. It sometimes also feels like aching for me. It's probably just that, but if you're really doubling up in pain I would give NHS direct a call just to get some professional advice.
