Anyone else spontaneously pregnant after IVF?

DD will be nine months tomorrow. She was born after our fourth round of IVF and a lot of heartache including two miscarriages, one of which was a spontaneous pregnancy. My cycle came back in October and after a lot of talking, DH and I decided we'd have a go and see what happened. And I'm pregnant! Really pregnant! I'm seven weeks now. I had a scan on Thursday at my lovely fertility clinic who were very happy for an old friend to come back. I got to see one heartbeat (quite pleased it was only one). Feeling a bit sick and tired but otherwise well. But scared, very very scared.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Not me but my dsis and two very good friends after YEARS of IVF. One of them was told that there was no chance naturally and she now has 2 dc, the other has 3!

Oh, and another 'friend of a friend' had IVF twins and then fell naturally - ended up with 3 under 18 months...delighted but not best pleased (IYSWIM!)

Oh I see exactly what you mean. I was heard to say "are you SURE it's only one" on Thursday. Three at 16 months and under would not have been funny!! Two at that age with a DH who is not home at bedtime is going to be hard enough as it is! And I've only just gone back to work!

Congratulations, I have a DF who had two successful ivf PGs with a lot of heart ache in between, who also has a naturally conceived youngest DC, born 12 years after she first started TTC.

Congratulations!

I didn't quite make it to ivf stage. Got told a week ago I was highly unlikely to get pregnant naturally and so should have been starting ivf in march. thought I best do a check on tuesday evening, bfp!!

Not sure it's a sticker though :( some bleeding etc but at early pregnancy unit on friday there was something there, we just need to wake 10 days to see if it sticks and develops.

You must be so chuffed!

I had one, successful round of ivf. When dd turned one we thought ok let's just try naturally for a bit before going back to the clinic. Dtd twice - pregnant! Ds is currently snoozing on my lap.

Congrats to you op. great not to have to trek down the ivf road again.

Happened to a friend of mine! Her IVF twins have a "spontaneous" little brother who is 17 months younger. Her consultant said "Ah, you ladies who come to us for IVF, sometimes you are not infertile, just a bit bunged up"Wink Sounds like you're one of them OP. Grin . Congratulations and good luck!

Yep, 23+4 here with DD2. DD1 IVF after 8 years of infertility and 4 MC.

I spent the first 12 weeks pinching myself that I really was having another baby after my miracle DD and worrying the pregnancy would go wrong. Now just getting my head round it all but very happy!

Happened to 2 of my IVF buddies too! One has a 13 month age gap and another has a third after twins!!!

Congratulations! Hope it all goes well for you..

So glad to hear I'm not alone! I feel gloriously horrid this evening. Like I could sleep for a week. FuriousRox we were the same, just the twice! Was so sure I wasn't I merrily ate sushi on my return to work - such a treat as I couldn't have it from my favourite place when pregnant. oops!

I think my body just needed a bit of "ooohhhh yeah" in order to get going! The very best of luck Gin Have you had any tests yet? I was on Clexane (a blood thinner) and steroids during my pregnancy with DD and I literally RAN to the GP for them on Day 29! They've helped, I'm sure, as I didn't take them during my 2 pgs that miscarried.
