Loss of waterlike fluid at 11 weeks. Have you heard of it?

I am 11 weekd pregnant with my first child. A couple of days ago I woke up feeling wet. I was loosing a waterlike (like thin jelly) pink fluid. I think I might have lost about half to one cup before it stoped. Midwife and hospital were useless as they could not book me in for scan until the next day. In the meantime I started bleeding and thought I lost the baby.
Fortunately next day did scan and baby is fine, but noone can tell me what this loss was.
Does anyone know? Has it happened to anyone else?

I had something very similiar when pregnant with ds2. At 14 weeks I had a sudden loss of pinky tinged liquid. Proberly about half to one cup also. I bled very, very lightly afterwards, had mild period like pains for the rest of the day. Called emergency Dr as it happened on a Saturday. They said there was nothing they could do and just to rest etc and phone surgery on Monday for a scan appointment. I was obviously very upset as I thought I had lost the baby. I presumed it was amniotic fluid at the time. Thankfully a scan revealed all was well and no one could explain the fluid I had lost. I went on to have a healthy baby boy (42 weeks spontanious labour)
I had previously had pain and slight bleeding at 9 weeks that lasted a day or too, but no problems at all in previous pregnancy.
It was weird that no one really had an idea as to what had happened though as at the time it really was quite a lot of fluid to lose when pregnant.
Hope the rest of your pregnancy is problem free blacksky
