37 and 6. Trickle of clear liquid. A bit TMI.

So woke up in the middle of the night to pee (again). As I went to wash my hands I noticed a clear trickle of liquid run right down my leg. It didn't smell of urine. No gush, nothing like that. I'm lying down for an hour to see if it happens again. It's 3.30am where I am. Should I ring L&D or am I over thinking this?

I'm no expert (I had to have my waters broken with DC1) I noticed to hadn't been answered. Have you lost any more liquid? The advise over here is to put a maternity pad on (no absorption chemicals) to see if you have more loss and give it a sniff. It will obviously smell very different to urine, straw-like?

Hope you're ok and managed to get more sleep.

I'm sure someone more knowledgable will come along soon. Bump

Most waters don't go with a gush, it's a popular myth perpetrated by American sitcoms and movies.

Sounds like it might be your waters, but then it could just be a build up of heavy discharge or (sorry if TMI) maybe you and hubby had some saucy time last night and that's it? Agree with poster above, put a non absorbent liner in your pants and see how you go.

Keep us updated!

This sounds exactly how my waters went. You need to put in a pad. Don't worry if the liquid turn a bit pinkish this is ok. If you are worried call your maternity unit. I had my first son at 37 weeks and all was well. Good luck.

Ps if nothing else happens but you keep leaking you need to see your midwife as they don't like to leave it too long because if risk of infection.

Could well be your waters, that's how mine went (but as I was only 34 weeks gone I thought I had become incontinent!) Any cramping? I'd suggest calling your midwife / hospital now, if only for some advice on next steps.

Wear a pad so that if you do go to hospital they can do a quick swab on the pad to see if it's amniotic fluid or something else.

Good luck!
