Ok I was in the maternity assesment for monitoring yesterday after baby hadn't wiggled around for a while and I was feeling really ill turns out its looking like I have a UTI but baby ok and I just need some antibiotics, haven't taken any yet as am waiting on results to make sure that's what it is am out of hospital today and have had the day off work to rest backstory aside I've been having - since around an hour ago - an egg white style discharge and the outside of my nether regions is seriously puffy and swollen to the point where a cold compress is required as it hurts! Haven't rang midwife line as dont want to seem bothersome yet again! Anyone else had this discharge/puffiness around 29 weeks?? Sorry this is TMI but just thought id ask...

Do you have strep B? That can cause those symptoms. I'm sure they'll test you for it. If so the antibiotics should sort it out.

I've never even heard of that (first time pregnancy this is all a bit new to me) Blush will have a quick google, is it tested for in routine urine checks?

It's not tested in a urine sample. They would need to take a swab. It's a bacteria (i think) that women can carry in the vagina. Mostly without symptoms. Occasionally it can cause symptoms such as the ones you describe. If you do have it antibiotics will sort out this episode. They may also want you to have them during labour so the baby doesn't pick it up during deliver.

If your sample comes back normal ask to be tested for this.

Could it be thrush?

Thrush?
