My fiance and I are trying to concieve our first child, and I believe I ovulated sometime in the last couple of weeks and will be around 8/9 dpo.

I have suddenly started with this crazy twitch in my left eyelid/brow bone.

I have never had this before and thought nothing of it at first, but as it has been driving me mad for the last day (as it is a constant thing every 20 minutes or so) I decided to google it.

The obvious causes of stress, fatigue, excessive computer use and caffeine consumption came up, which would explain it to me however I did notice quite a lot of people seem to have reported suffering with a twitching eye in very early pregnancy, though it seems a bit far fetched to me.

I just wondered if anybody on here has experienced this?

My sister was telling me only yerday that eye twitching was what tipped her off to her second PG. Good luck. x

yerday? Confused yesterday!

My eye has been very twitchy this week.

I do not want any more children, thank you. I do hope it is down to lack of sleep with DS. I'd not noticed it in either pregnancy though.

Thanks for replies! Like I say i know it sounds ridiculous and I thought it was a load of rubbish when I first saw pregnancy come up in search results but it seemed as though some women picked up on it in very early pregnancy!? What ever it is, it is driving me mad!

As somebody who nearly put myself in the nuthouse with the help of google and pregnancy, please take my kindly intended advise:

Step away from google during conception and pregnancy.

It. Will. Drive. You. Mad.

Good luck with the rest of it!

im not normally one for googling especially with ttc type queries, this just something i came across when looking up the eye twitching and i just wondered if it rang true with anyone

I tend to get it when I'm tired which, I suppose, is an early symptom is pregnancy. So maybe there is something behind it but it's so often due to other things that I wouldn't put much faith in that alone I'm afraid.

Good luck for when you POAS though! Smile

It was a sign for me both times. Only in first Tri, but it's starting again now at 30 weeks.

Hopefully it's a sign for you, but as you know it could be many things!

leeloo1 · 30/01/2013 22:38

I had this, but I'd forgotten all about it. A really strong twitch above my left eyelid - I had to hold it with my fingers to stop it twitching. I only had it on and off for 1 day and I think it was the day/day after I found out I was pregnant (at 4 weeks!).

Fingers x'd it means good news for you. :)

I have had twitchy eye a fair bit in the past but not for a while. I always thought it was stress but it was when I was at work and both stressed and pregnant, so who knows?

Of course, many women get excessive fatigue as an early symptom; it may be a by-product.
