18 weeks pregnant, pains in stomach and partially in ribs

Im 18 weeks pregnant and for the past few days have been having on and off pains in my stomach and my ribs. Shooting pains across my stomach like someone is squeezing me and occasionally a sharp pain in my ribs. Has anyone else had experience of this? I have a Doppler and can still find babys heartbeat which is as strong and loud as usual but worried about what this pain might mean?

Is the pain in your pelvic area?

I ask because I have been having such pain since around 18 weeks too. Its only in the past week since I've started having severe back pain that I've realised it was pelvic pain and I should have gone to the GP/Midwife earlier. I just kept thinking it was growing pains.

Tis hunny are you sure its not gas? I am getting stitches and sharp pains in my ribs too but its down to my digestion going nuts.
