Pregnancy second time round

Does a nasty first time pregnancy mean it´s more likely to have a nasty second pregnancy or is there no correlation? I guess by the time I find out for myself it will be too late. So were your 2 (or more?) pregnancies the SAME or DIFFERENT? Cheers!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

First was amazing - I've never felt healthier (had had endometriosis for years beforehand, so had been in pain, often quite bad for what seemed like forever).

Second...had gestational diabetes and SPD - it was hard, hard, hard.

I'd say there's no correlation. Birth was better second time round though - although first time round wasn't bad, second time was positively easy Grin

Hunkermunkfish - I have endometriosis and am pregnant for the first time - only 10 weeks in! Did your endo cause you any pains during pregnancy? I'm a little worried as I've been having some pains but they feel like those associated with endo (warning TMI alert) but they seem to fade when I go to the loo?

I had hyperemesis, both times... but apart from that it was great!

SPD was better the second time round, possibly because I was very mobile throughout compared to lazy the first time!

Birth was easier :)

First pregnancy was a breeze. OK - the usual bit of tiredness at the end in the evenings, carpel tunnel syndrome, but all in all nothing much at all.

2nd pregnancy - a lot more tired, naturally, generally harder work, and a lot of nausea earlier on.

1st pregnancy.[ds].was ok but tiring and was very limited in what I could eat.
2nd [dd]was more physically painful as had spd but none of the cravings and tiredness in the same way.

1st pregnancy - throwing up a lot every day for 16wks and lots of extra monitoring for high blood-pressure.

2nd pregnancy - had nausea for 16wks but only sick once. Everything else was fine.

3rd pregnancy - identical to 2nd except for an extra scan to see if the baby had stayed in a transverse position.

My first pregnancy was great I couldn't eat very much for the first 10 weeks, lived on fishfingers, but other than that it was fine, this time I have already had more complaints than last time and I am only 9 weeks gone, just hoping that as I get closer to 12 weeks things start to get a bit better!
