Can anyone help please? I thought I could be pregnant, I have many symptoms - nausea, headaches, dizziness, food tasting funny. I just did a test and it's come back negative. I am four days late I don't have my usual period symptoms, which would usually tell me it's on it's way. People just keep telling me I'm stressed and that's why my period is late. I don't feel stressed at all and my period has never been late, last month it was early! I don't know what's wrong with me? Could it be false reading? Has anyone else experienced this?

It's possible that you ovulated late this cycle and so it might still be too early to test despite having missed your period. I would wait a few more days and try again, fingers crossed you get whichever result you want Smile

I had 2 negative tests but KNEW I was pregnant so waited a few days and eventually got a positive. It might be that there's not enough of the hormone in your system yet for the test to pick up. I'd wait a couple of days and try again. Good luck!

Actually being stressed wont delay your period itself. What it can delay is ovulation, resulting in a late period as a knock on effect. Were you stressed or ill mid cycle?

I agree, all you can do is sit it out. When you test use FMU (first morning urine) to ensure its as concentrated as possible. If it gets to a week, it's worth asking your GP if they'll do a blood test.

I had a negative test with my dd2, tested a few days after period due. I waited a few more days and got a positive, but I knew I was pg, we had been trying for 5 months. When I had the dating scan, they added a week to my due date. They said it was possibly due to me conceiving late in my cycle. She still ended up being 4 days by their dates or 11 by mine.

If you do test again, I've found the superdrug own-brand tests to be the most sensitive, more so than the expensive ones.
