When should my boobs start changing??

In the very early stages I had very tender boobs, but since then they just seem the same as before.

I'm now 30 weeks so was expecting a bit of growth, tenderness, possibly even leaks by this point.

Is this normal?

I was wondering the same, I am 33 weeks and haven't had much change either.

They were tender in the early stages too but I don't think that lasted longer than about 2 weeks.

I've had very very little change in my boobs and am also 30 weeks. Even at the beginning they weren't particularly sore. Think count yourself lucky and it is not a sign that anything is wrong!

I first knew I was pregnant as my boobs ballooned up and were really sore. Then they went literally back to normal. I had them measured at mothercare at the weekend (i am 38 weeks) and they were measured as 36C which I have always been. My left one has leaked in the night a few times. She told me that they were likely to go up a cup size after I give birth and may have to come again to be measured.
I had no clue that i wasnt supposed to be wearing underwired bras by the way as it apparently interferes with your milk ducts.
I havent put on much weight thankfully during pregnancy but I imagine it is usual to go up a size just due to weight too x

iam mothercare is notoriously bad at bra fitting. Can you post your under- and overbust measurements here, it's quite likely they got it wrong.

Oh and it's totally fine to wear underwired bras, that's what NSH says:

It is sometimes suggested that pregnant women shouldn?t wear underwired bras as the wiring can sometimes cause blockages in the milk ducts. However, there is no evidence to support this. As long as the bra fits you well and the wires of the bra aren?t digging in, there is no reason to stop wearing an underwired bra.

oh i didnt know that Hazle.
The woman was very nice and I do believe her as the bra she fitted to me is lovely and comfy. Also I have worn my usual bras all the way through pregnancy that are 36c so i dont think theyve grown at all. i dont know my measurements though. i got a nursing bra from them and some to sleep in that you can put maternity pads in.
Regarding underwired they asked me if i had been wearing underwired and the two women looked SHOCKED!!! And made me think i was doooommmeeed. they said that was terrible and when i said i was 38 weeks they looked terrified. it must be part of their sales technique? ha ha. cause i bought two sets of bras

Mine didn't changed at all during pregnancy. Not sore, didn't get bigger. Breastfeed for years. Mothercare bras IMHO are utterly crap, esp if you bend over then your breasts fall out of the bra altogether. The sleep bras were good though, just to keep breastpads in place and for a bit of support.

Do you have a tape measure? or what dress size are you normally? I'm asking because Mothercare is notorious in putting women in way too big back sizes and if you're otherwise a size 12, you're unlikely to need a 36 bra.

I personally have gone from 32F to 34G by just 19 weeks and there's no way in hell I will stop wearing underwired bras, I need the support. And there are also underwired nursing bras available, that have got a lot of praise on MN, so no I don't believe they're in any way dangerous.

well i was a 14ish but have lost quite a bit of weight during pregnancy due to sickness so i would say i am a size 12 up top. The sleeping bras she gave me are size 12 (the size 14 was too loose on me). The 36c ones are for nursing and lacey type ones that you can undo at top - and felt ok but now im not so sure. are you saying a size 12 = 36 usually?

Would just say, Hazle is something of a bra expert and well worth listening to - for years I was struggling in badly fitting 32A-34AAs then suddenly, on her wisdom, discovered that I should be 28-30D/DD. I was shocked, my family (esp my sisters) was shocked as I've always always thought myself flatchested.

My 30DDs are the comfiest thing I have ever worn, and fit perfectly, back and cup size.

As to original question, mine have been sore and have grown at least a cupsize and possibly backsize too since the very beginning, am now 15 weeks. I'm going to get refitted at the weekend as I'm strtaing to get lines on top of my boob from the cup. Think they're slowing down though...

No, a size 12 would on average rather be in size 32 bra. The general rule is that what your underbust measurement is, that's your bra size, but a lot of fitters still use the outdated method of adding 4 inches. No need.

When I had my DD 6 years ago advice was to ditch underwired bras. This advice has since been removed as no evidence was found that they interfere in any way. I'm comfortably wearing my usual wires bras this time, instead of comfortably with guilt this time.

gggrrrr - I am sort of mad now with Mothercare - cause they made me feel really bad on Saturday when I was wearing one. I panicked afterwards! The woman looked like I told her I was on Crack.

lucky no extra boobage here either, my back size has gone up but not cup size. (I tried the Hot Milk online size estimator and it still puts me at an A cup)

LikeCandy, I have not tried Hotmilk bras, so there is a chance that those are totally different, but I doubt it. And if they measure pretty much like most other bras, then this calculator (like 99% of online bra calculators) you used is wrong. It would put someone measuring 32 under and 36 over into a 36A - that person would really need a 32D!
What are your measurements, if you don't mind me asking?
